Championess

LUIGI D’ECLIPSE x DIAMANT DE SEMILLY

2019

Zangersheide

Championess combines a proven international pedigree with the modern athleticism South Corner seeks. The 2019 Zangersheide mare is by Luigi d’Eclipse out of Doris Day van Overis, by Diamant de Semilly. Luigi d’Eclipse won the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix of Maastricht with Maikel van der Vleuten, while Diamant de Semilly was a World Team Champion and became one of showjumping’s most influential sires.

Her maternal family brings its own record at the highest level. Championess is a half-sister to Mateo van Overis Z, who competed at CSI5* 1.60m, and Wathnan Charly Brown, an international 1.55m performer. She began her international career with David Moser riding for South Corner in 2025, progressing from 1.15m to 1.25m at Stadl-Paura. In 2026, Monika Osvaldova continued her development for the stable in national classes up to M* 1.20m.

Championess holds a valuable dual role within South Corner’s programme: a developing sport mare and an important asset for future breeding. Her scope, balance and careful technique are supported by a dam line already proven at 1.60m. Through thoughtful sporting development and carefully selected breeding, South Corner is preserving her exceptional genetics while continuing to build her experience in the arena.
