This website is created and hosted using Squarespace. For users outside the United States, the relevant provider is:

Information may be processed by Squarespace, Inc. and approved service providers in the United States or other countries. Squarespace states that transfers from the European Economic Area are protected through the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, adequacy decisions or European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable.

5. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored on your device.
Necessary cookies
Necessary cookies support essential functions such as website security, page navigation, fraud prevention, cookie preferences and protection against cross-site request forgery. These technologies are used under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and, where applicable, Section 25(2) TDDDG because they are required to provide the website requested by the visitor.
Squarespace may, for example, use the session cookie “crumb” to protect the website against cross-site request forgery.
Analytics and performance cookies
With your consent, Squarespace may place analytics or performance cookies that help us understand how visitors use the website. Information may include pages visited, visit duration, traffic sources, general location, browser or device information and interactions with website content.
The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You may refuse or withdraw your consent at any time through the website’s cookie settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
Rejecting non-essential cookies will not prevent you from using the essential functions of the website.
The cookies and their duration may change when website features are updated. Current information can be accessed through the cookie settings available on the website.
6. Contact forms, email and general enquiries
If you contact us by email or through a website form, we may process:
Your name
Email address and telephone number
Company, stable, studbook or breeding-operation information
Country or location
The content of your message
Information concerning a horse, stallion, mare, embryo or semen enquiry
Any documents, photographs or other information you voluntarily provide
We process this information to answer your enquiry, provide requested information, discuss a possible purchase or collaboration and manage our business relationship.
Depending on the nature of the enquiry, the legal basis is:
Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, where processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract;
Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in communicating with interested parties and managing professional relationships;
Article 6(1)(c) GDPR, where processing is required to meet a legal obligation; or
Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, where we specifically request your consent.
Fields marked as mandatory are required for us to process the enquiry. You are not generally required by law to provide this information, but without the necessary contact details we may be unable to respond.
7. Horse, breeding and semen enquiries
Where an enquiry concerns a stallion, breeding arrangement or semen availability, we may share the information necessary to handle the request with the relevant breeding station or professional partner, including Hengststation Völz, as well as veterinary, transport, administrative or breeding-service providers where appropriate.
Information is shared only where necessary to respond to your request, arrange the requested service, prepare or perform a contract, or where you have asked us to make the introduction.
If you follow a link from our website to an external breeding station or other service provider, that provider is independently responsible for the personal data collected through its website, enquiry process or ordering system. Please consult the provider’s privacy policy before submitting information.
8. Email services
Our business email services may be provided through Gandi SAS, 63–65 Boulevard Masséna, 75013 Paris, France. When you email us, your name, email address, message and related metadata may therefore be processed through Gandi’s email infrastructure.
This processing is necessary to receive, store and respond to business communications. Further information is available in the Gandi Privacy Policy.
9. External links and social media
Our website may contain links to third-party websites and social-media profiles, including Instagram and websites operated by breeding, training, competition or sales partners.
A standard external link does not generally transmit information to the external provider until you click it. Once you leave our website, the third party is independently responsible for its processing of personal data.
If we use embedded social-media content or externally hosted videos, information such as your IP address, browser data and the page visited may be transmitted to the relevant provider. Where consent is legally required, such content will be activated only after you have given consent through the cookie settings.
We have no control over the data-processing practices of independent third parties.
10. Recipients of personal data
Where necessary, personal data may be disclosed to:
Squarespace and its approved subprocessors
Our email and IT service providers
Breeding stations and equestrian service providers
Veterinary, transport, competition or administrative partners
Professional advisers, including legal, tax and accounting advisers
Public authorities or courts where disclosure is legally required
Other recipients where you have requested or consented to the disclosure
We do not sell personal data.
Service providers processing personal data on our behalf are contractually required to process it only in accordance with our instructions and applicable data-protection law.
11. International data transfers
Some technology providers or their subprocessors may process data outside the European Economic Area.
Where personal data is transferred to a country that has not been recognised as providing an adequate level of protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, an applicable adequacy decision or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
You may contact us if you would like further information about the safeguards applicable to a particular transfer.
12. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
General enquiries are normally retained for the duration of the correspondence and for an appropriate period afterwards so that we can follow up, document the communication and protect or establish legal claims.
Where an enquiry leads to a contractual or commercial relationship, relevant data may be retained for the duration of that relationship and for the statutory commercial, accounting and tax-retention periods applicable in Germany.
Data processed solely on the basis of consent is deleted or no longer used for that purpose when consent is withdrawn, unless another legal basis permits or requires continued retention.
13. Direct marketing
Making an enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to a newsletter.
We send electronic marketing communications only where permitted by law. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe function in the communication or by emailing contact@south-corner.com.
We may continue to send non-marketing messages necessary to answer an enquiry or perform a contract.
14. Your rights
Subject to the conditions established by the GDPR, you may have the right to:
Request access to your personal data
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
Request deletion of your data
Request restriction of processing
Receive personal data you provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format
Request transmission of eligible data to another controller
Object to processing based on legitimate interests
Withdraw consent at any time
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Right to object
Where we process personal data on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation.
If personal data is processed for direct-marketing purposes, you may object at any time without providing a reason. We will then stop processing the data for direct marketing.
To exercise your rights, contact contact@south-corner.com. We may request appropriate information to confirm your identity before responding.
15. Supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for South Corner’s registered office is:
The Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information
Ludwig-Erhard-Str. 22
20459 Hamburg
Germany
Email: mailbox@datenschutz.hamburg.de
Website: www.datenschutz-hamburg.de
You may also contact the supervisory authority in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.
16. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure.
The website uses encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
17. Automated decisions
We do not use personal data collected through this website to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
18. Children
This website is intended for professional and general equestrian audiences and is not directed specifically at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the website without the appropriate consent or other lawful basis.
19. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its revision date.
